This is a rough outline of the type of progression sequence I may use when developing a skill.

This is part of a pass progression activity that develops the passing technique of an individual and progresses to vision and decision from an individual to a team.

Part Sample of Progressive Passing Session typically used:

Stage 1: Passing Waves - Short Pass

Points - Targets, Body Shape, Head Over Ball, Run On

Activity: Punch Pass (Pairs)

Demonstration: Upright vs Low Run (Little Johnny)

 

Stage 2: Passing Waves - Short Pass, Poles

Points - Targets, Body Shape, Depth, Support


Stage 3: Passing Waves - Short Pass, Traffic

Points - Targets, Body Shape, Depth, Vision

 

Stage 4: Passing Waves - Short Pass, Shields

Points - Targets, Body Shape, Depth, Hand Speed

Activity: 4 Player Multi Pass, Outside players rotate.

 

Stage 5: Passing Waves - Long Pass

Points - Longer Targets, Ball Through Body, Pass & Point

Activity: Side Push Pass With Arms Extended (Pairs)

 

Stage 6: Pass & Support - Multi Skill (Variations = inside support, outside support, pop pass etc)

Points - Targets, Body Shape, Depth, Support
